DIZZYING DIETS SIMPLIFIED WITH SAUERKRAUT

September 30, 2018 Peter Kearns
sauerkraut diet

Healthy eating isn’t always easy – at least sauerkraut remains simple

Every day it feels like there is a new way to eat. Ketogenic, low-carb, vegan, paleo, high-carb, sugar-free, you name it, someone has probably tried it. While we’re not here to tell you which one you should try (just do what works for you, we say!), we are here to say that whatever diet you prescribe to, sauerkraut is never off-limits!

Well, unless there’s a no-kraut diet out there? If there is, we don’t want to hear about it…

PALEO: YES YOU CAN

We’ve said it a million times, but we’ll say it again: sauerkraut has truly stood the test of time, and dates way, way, way (way, way, way, way, way…) back. So what does that mean? Sauerkraut is on the paleo table! And lucky for you, our jars make it one of the easiest ways to enjoy the paleo lifestyle (in our opinion).

KETO: WE WON’T SAY NO

The ketogenic diet is all about staying away from carbohydrates and focusing on a high-fat diet. Sauerkraut and kimchi are a nutritious way to enjoy vegetables in your diet without consuming sugar, so you can add this to your list of foods you can eat!

VEGAN: OF COURSE

Veganism involves eschewing anything made with living-beings or their by-products, so you can’t eat meat, dairy, honey, eggs etc. Now, while our sauerkrauts are definitely ALIVE, we’re fairly certain that even the staunchest vegan isn’t worried about living bacteria, so that means they can enjoy a delicious serving of sauerkraut.

In saying this, our kimchi is made with fish sauce, so that one is, unfortunately, not vegan.

Have we missed anything? If you’re worried whether you can enjoy that good gut feeling in your diet, leave us a comment and we’ll let you know!
