HOW WE MAKE OUR KRAUT & KIMCHI

HOW WE MAKE OUR KRAUT

Behind the scenes at Living Goodness

how we make our kraut

Ever wondered what goes into making some of your favourite foods? We’re big fans of knowing exactly what we’re putting into our bodies, and we’re sure we can’t be the only ones. If you’re like us, then you might be wondering how we make our krauts and kimchi’s!

Our process is quite simple:

  1. We select the best produce, clean them and chop them

  2. The vegetables go into the cabbage shredder to make them the perfect size for sauerkraut and are hand cut for the kimchi

  3. We then put the vegetables into our big mixer, and start adding the salts and any herbs and seasoning depending on what we’re making that day

  4. This then heads off to be fermented for 10-14 days for the kimchi & up to 2 months for the kraut

  5. After that it’s ready to be tasted, tested and packed into jars so it's ready to go out to all of you!

We recently filmed a day where we were making a batch of Quick Draw Slaw and our Heartbeet Kraut, so if you’d like to see us in action take a look!
